Have you ever returned from vacation and said, "I need a vacation!"? Often, we leave for a trip without a real plan, and the results are unsatisfying or don't live up to our expectations. The dictionary defines vacation as "a period of time devoted to pleasure, rest, or relaxation…" but we each have our own unique definition of the ultimate vacation experience.

Are you getting what you want out of your vacations?

If you love vacations, this book is for you!

The Maiden Voyage
In the early 90's, the Stimpsons embarked on a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean. While their newlywed time together was wonderful, something about the trip wasn't quite right. Feeling pulled in a thousand different directions on the cruise, and not having discussed the desired outcome for their trip ahead of time, they became unsure about where to focus their attention and how to spend their week. Did they want relaxation? Adventure? What about all those tours? Unfortunately, this confusion led to a few disappointments during a time they hoped would be perfect. They returned home feeling exhausted and not completely satisfied with how their trip had unfolded.

Due to their love of vacations and commitment to a lifetime of travels, the couple declared from that point forward things would be different! They agreed to put serious, thoughtful effort into each future vacation to help create the ultimate experience. The result, after years of traveling together and fine-tuning their process, is the heart of "How to Have a Great Vacation!"

The Success!
"You made our family vacation much more fulfilling! We each had a 'voice' in the planning and no one complained because we all had something to do with the preparation. We came together as a family and talked openly about our vacation expectations, and we focused on what was most important to each of us…as well as to the entire family. Everyone became a player. Because of
your help, we truly
did have a great vacation!"
—Sarah Quie, mother of three and business owner

“Five of us planned a trip to England to visit friends. It was an expensive trip and most of us had not traveled together before so I insisted that we hire you to guide us through your ‘How to Have a Great Vacation!’ process. It was a fun evening, and among our group we learned some VERY important things about each other. And although it was a trip with great potential for disaster, it was one of the most fun trips EVER, for all five of us. The only clashes occurred between and with the couple we visited, who were not a part of our process! Almost three years later, we still refer to things we learned about each other at our dinner with you. We are also still amazed at how much fun we had on our trip and at how smoothly things went. I will never vacation again without doing your ‘How to Have a Great Vacation!’ process. Non-negotiable. Seriously—hold me to it!”
—Marilyn Wallick, business owner and avid traveler

"Our recent vacation was a most delightful family experience. The pre-planning session we had with you helped our three-generation group think ahead to what each of us hoped to see happen. It was great to clarify our goals togethergrandma and grandpa, our children, and grandchildren. What a gift to the enjoyment of our tripthank you!"
—Roland Larson, retired counselor and senior tennis player
