Greetings & Welcome!

We just returned home from a long weekend away up north at a cabin with special friends. What a beautiful and peaceful respite! We boated on the lake, grilled, sat at the campfire, listened to music, fished, had great conversation, watched movies and ate popcorn, watched the sun set, read, slept in, and played with the dogs.

The richest part of life really is in the little things, isn't it? And those little things can be enjoyed on an even greater level when you've handled the "clutter" in your life. That's a hot topic for so many, so you'll find a few articles here on how to begin to get rid of the pile-up, along with our own personal experiences on what has worked for us. It's amazing what awaits you once you slowly begin to clear the "stuff" away!

This month, a special thank you to:

--Aspire Consulting, our sponsor
--Phil Humbert at Resources for Success for his Productivity Tool

What a blessing to be acquainted with such great people!

Best wishes to you for fantastic rest of the summer,

Tackling Clutter
By Michelle Stimpson

I am amazed by the number of times I initially meet with a client and we're discussing some of their top goals. These goals might include increased life balance, better time management, or financial success. Once we dig-in, however, so often there is one similar thing at the root of what is holding so many people back: Clutter.

Clutter in the workspace, clutter on the kitchen table, clutter underneath the bed, clutter in the basement--clutter everywhere! And clutter everywhere leads to a cluttered mind. When one of my clients and I were discussing some very important goals with her home business that got her really excited, the next week she hadn't done a thing with regard to her new goal. Why? "I can't stand to be in my messy and cluttered office," she said.

It's so easy to let clutter pile up. In fact, in the short-term, it's probably easier to just let it build, rather than take the time and energy up front to do something about it. Did you know that the number one reason that clutter builds up is...

"The minute I spoke with Michelle, I knew I had reached out to the right place for help."

In March 2003 I married the man I always hoped I would find. We had a beautiful wedding and a great start to our new life together. On that day, not only did I become a new wife and housemate to a wonderful man, but an "instant" step-mom to his five year-old daughter! I was excited to call them "my family" and looked forward to being able to provide a stable environment for his daughter to grow up in.

Little did I know at the time just how hard the struggles of being a new wife and step-mom would be. About that same time, the focus and responsibilities of my job changed dramatically. I began to question whether this job was still the right place for me and whether I was appreciated or even added value anymore. This situation, coupled with the struggles of trying to make a blended family work, initiated the call I made to Michelle. I was in a role-identity crisis and needed help figuring out who I was!

Philip Humbert, Resources for Success

Philip HumbertOur special friend and colleague, Phil Humbert is an amazing author, speaker, and coach. We've attended his World-Class Life Conference in Green Lake, Wisconsin, a few times where we have been inspired to dream, set goals, and clarify our life and business purpose. And it is there that we learned about Phil's Productivity Tool. It's about time that we share what we learned with you!

In working with clients, we routinely see questions come up like this: "How do I decide where to focus my time and energy?" and then "Now that I know what's most important, how do I follow-through and act on those things?"

Phil has a very simple and basic tool to help you focus on what's most important to you--every day! Go here to check it out. Tell your friends about it, too! And be sure to let us know how it works for you. :)
